New “Quickstart in Open Science” Training Sessions

Following the successful completion of the first, second, and third cycles of the training program “Quickstart in Open Science”, as well as the increased participation in the sessions held so far during the fourth cycle, the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-Link) is adding two new dates for synchronous training sessions in April 2026:

The fourth cycle of the training program introduces you to HEAL-Link’s “flipped classroom” model. The two thematic modules begin with asynchronous learning (theory) through the OpenPlato platform and are completed with synchronous online sessions (practice) via the Zoom platform.

To receive the valid, machine-readable certificate—ready for your digital skills wallet—you must first complete the courses on the OpenPlato platform and then attend the live online session.

The thematic modules are now available, and registration is open to all members of the HEAL-Link communities.

What participants said about the training program:

“The concept and practice of data openness have gained significant ground in recent years within the epistemological practice of evidence-based research and science in general. This seminar contributed to a detailed description and clarification of the various concepts and definitions within the framework of openness.”

Thomas Kylindris – Laboratory Teaching Staff, University of Thessaly

“For me, perhaps the most positive aspect is that Quickstart in Open Science provides a lawful and ethical way to address certain dysfunctions of the modern scientific landscape. For this reason, it is very beneficial that it is offered to researchers at the beginning of their careers.”

Diamantina Nikolaou – PhD Candidate, University of Patras

Please note that the “Quickstart in Open Science” program is implemented במסגרת the European project PATTERN (Piloting Open and Responsible Activities and Trainings Towards the Enhancement of Researchers Networks, HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-ERA-01). It is structured in successive phases of training sessions and is addressed to early-career researchers with little or no prior experience who wish to learn, in a concise and interactive way, about the importance of Open Access and Research Data Management.
