Impact and Quality Indicators

In 2015, the journal Nature published the article “Bibliometrics: The Leiden Manifesto for research metrics” by Diana Hicks, Paul Wouters, and colleagues, in response to the growing reliance on quantitative indicators such as the h-index and the impact factor. The article referred to ten principles aimed at promoting a more responsible and fair use of research measurement and evaluation indicators, encouraging the complementary use of quantitative and qualitative metrics.
